High salt intake can make your kidneys to work harder in order to eliminate the excess salt. In the end the function of kidneys will be reduced and there will be water retention in the organism. 4. Drinking A lot of Alcohol
You should drink alcohol in moderation. The reason is because a lot of it can cause serious kidney problems and other health problems as well! A lot of alcohol can cause deposits of uric acid in the renal tubules and can cause tubular obstruction.

5. Lack of Sleep
Experts say that sleep deficiency is bad for our kidneys and for the entire organism as well. Adults should sleep 6 to 8 hours of sleep and anything less can have a bad influence. Many people do not know that the organ tissues actually regenerate while we sleep.
This means that lack of sleep will hinder the process of regeneration and it can result in damage of the kidneys and other organs. One recent study showed that sleep deficiency can cause atherosclerosis and hypertension that raise the risk of kidney failure. The kidneys will function perfectly if you have normal sleeping habits.
